Bhubaneswar, Jan 20: Two of-ficials of Forest and Environment department have given compul-sory retirement over corruption charges and dereliction of duty
Forest and Environment Minister Bikram Keshari Arukha Wednesday issued an order in this regard. The two forest officials are as-sistant conservator of forests of Kuldiha range (Balasore forest di-vision), Laxman Pradhan and forester of Bisra range (Panposh forest division) Bharat Kumar Ghadai.
Pradhan had been placed under suspension following a case filed with the Lokayukta on corrup-tion charges. The General Administration (Vigilance) de-partment had initiated a disci-plinary proceeding against him for dereliction of duty and amassing disproportionate assets. While he was in charge of Kuldiha wildlife range,
a decomposed carcass of a tusker had been recovered and the two tusks were also missing. Similarly, many vigilance cases have been registered against Ghadai over corruption charges. The cases are still pending against him.
