-Bhubaneswar, Jan 20: Odia actor Rabi Mishra passed away while undergoing treatment at a private hospital here Wednesday. He was 64. Family sources said that Mishra was admitted to the hospital after he complained of chest pain last evening.
Mishra, a versatile actor, has performed in positive, negative and comedy characters and dom-inated the Odia entertainment in-dustry for – more than two decades. He is _ known for his role in popu-lar Odia movies like Sakal Tirtha, Ma Pari Kie Heba, Soubhyagabati, Rakhi Bhijigala Alchi Luhare and Mana Rahigala Tumari Thare.
Mishra has also acted in more than 100 tel-evision serials and plays. He is fondly remembered for his role in popular television serial ‘Gopal Rahasya’.
Several eminent per-sons including Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan, BJP na-tional vice president Baijayant Panda and several eminent ac-tors of Odia film industry con-doled his death. In a condolence message in his Twitter page, the CM wrote,
“I am deeply saddened to learn about the demise of eminent actor Rabi Mishra. He would be remembered for all times to come for the un-forgettable imprint that he has left for his flawless role in many popular Odia films and television serials.” He expressed his deepest con-dolences to the bereaved family members and prayed for the sal-vation of the departed soul.
