Bhubaneswar, Jan 20: Odisha’s Covid-19 tally Wednesday surged to 3,33,723 after 157 more people tested positive for the viral infection, a senior Health and Family Welfare (H&FW) department official said.
The coronavirus death toll re-mained at 1,902, as no new fatality due to the infection was reported since Tuesday, the official said.
The 157 new Covid-19 cases were detected in 24 of the state’s 30 dis-tricts, 93 were reported from dif-ferent quarantine centres while the remaining 64 were contact cases.
Sundargarh district recorded the highest of 30 new cases fol-lowed by Puri (20) and Sambalpur (18). Six districts— Dhenkanal, Deogarh, Kendrapara, Keonjhar, Malkangiri and Nayagarh— did not register any new positive case since Tuesday, said the official.
